Early training for Ms. Robin came from Gaston Dance Theater, along with extensive work in gymnastics. She participated in intensive summer programs at the Governor’s School of N.C. in modern dance, the N.C. School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, and the American Dance Festival at Duke University. As a performer, her favorite dance styles included musical theatre, gymnastics, pointe, and lyrical. She also achieved success in championship baton twirling, earning regional and national titles through the DMA organization.
Her most fulfilling teaching experience has been the 25 years she has dedicated to B.B. Dance Productions, specializing in ballet and gymnastics instruction. Under her direction, B.B. Dance Competition Acro-Gymnastics Groups have been recognized for Outstanding Choreography and have won Overall High Score at both regional and national competitions. Ms. Robin is influenced by the great choreographer George Balanchine, who inspirationally said, "I don't want people who want to dance; I want people who have to dance.”
