Robin has been teaching various forms of dance and gymnastics in the studio environment for over 25 years. She is also employed by Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as a certified educator and has worked extensively in both the elementary and middle school settings. She earned her degree from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she also received her K-12 teaching certification from the state of North Carolina.
Early training for Mrs. Robin came from Gaston Dance Theater as well as extensive work in gymnastics. She also trained in intensive summer programs at the Governor’s School of N.C. in modern dance, the N.C. School of the Arts in Winston Salem and the American Dance Festival at Duke University. As a performer, her favorite dance styles were musical theatre, gymnastics, pointe and lyrical. Other performance success in Mrs. Robin’s career stemmed from championship baton twirling where she was awarded regional and national championship titles through the DMA organization.
Her most fulfilling teaching experience is the 20 years she has worked with the B.B. Dance Productions students specializing in ballet and gymnastics instruction. Under her direction, B.B. Dance Competition Acro-Gymnastics Groups have been recognized for Outstanding Choreography as well as winning Overall High Score at both Regional and National Competitions. Mrs. Robin is influenced by the great choreographer George Balanchine who so inspirationally said, "I don't want people who want to dance; I want people who have to dance.”
